Father McGivney Catholic High School offers a college perparatory, high tech, well-rounded, fully accredited, academically excellent, Catholic education.
Father McGivney Catholic High School is more than just a college preparatory school. We provide a Catholic education in a faith-centered environment that emphasizes academic excellence to develop the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
Father McGivney Catholic High School believes in creating a community of learning in which honesty, responsibility, and honor are the norms and in which academic integrity is the expectation. Honesty is a value that holds each person to tell the truth and to defend the truth. Honesty supports intellectual growth and creates a fair learning environment. Teachers and Administrators understand the pressure to get good grades can sometimes create the incentive to cheat. Cheating removes the value of learning for the individual. Grades earned should reflect what the student has truly learned in the course. All learners must take personal responsibility for their education.
It is important to Father McGivney Catholic High School that we prepare our students for the future…and the future is technology. Each classroom in our new, high-tech facility is equipped with a large flat-screen television, state-of-the-art sound systems, the ability for teachers to project their interactive classroom instruction onto the televisions, and wireless technology throughout the building.
Daily Integration Father McGivney Catholic High School is a 1:1 laptop school and is the only one in the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois; each student receives a laptop on the first day and the laptop is theirs to keep at the end of their four years. E-textbooks are designed to be a more interactive option to the standard textbook,
providing a greater resource for the students to learn, offering different learning
styles right at the student’s fingertips. The only physical book our students carry is their Bible. As an enhancement to e-books, Father McGivney teachers use Moodle in their classroomsfor instruction, assignments, quizzes and tests.
