Dr. Etter received her undergraduate degree in Spanish & English from SEMO, a Master of Arts in English from SIUE, and her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from SIUC.  She retired from Belleville Township High School West in 2022 with 31 years of teaching experience in Spanish and English and serving as Belleville West's Chair of Fine Arts & World Languages for 15 years.  After 2 months of retirement, she joined the McGivney community in 2022. She enjoys taking students abroad for travel & service projects.  She believes that building solidarity with other people is the first step to developing a just & peaceful society.  She lives in Breese, IL with her husband and is the proud parent of 2 adult children.
