Joe Lombardi grew up in Granite City and attended Granite City High School. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Loyola University Chicago and benefited greatly from the liberal arts education this Jesuit institution provided. After working several years at the Shedd Aquarium as a dolphin trainer and at the St. Louis Zoo in education, Mr. Lombardi found his calling to be an educator and earned his teaching certificate and Master’s in Administration from SIUE. Mr. Lombardi started his education career as a member of the Belleville West Science Department for 18 years teaching Biology. He also served as the Science Department Chair for 12 years. He was then blessed with the opportunity to become the next Principal of Father McGivney Catholic High School in 2017. He is thrilled to be a part of a dynamic, student-centered, faith-based learning environment provided by Father McGivney. Mr. Lombardi and his wife Christy, are the proud parents of Benjamin, Anna, and Max and are blessed to be parishioners at St. Boniface in Edwardsville.
