Woody’s passion for sports is expansive. He has worn hats as an Athletic Director, NFHS coach, IHSA coach and official, and mentored both coaches and officials along the way. He has coached numerous sports at multiple levels from youth through adult. Woody has coached volleyball at Holy Family School since its inception in 1988, coached “select” club ball in the mid-1990s, and enjoyed watching some of his athletes play beyond the high school level. Woody is excited about being a part of the Father McGivney family where faith, family and education are the standard, and the athletic program that nurtures confidence, sportsmanship and always thankfulness to God for all of it.
Woody is a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City, where he resides with his wife Rita. A retired brick mason, he now treasures his time with his children and grandchildren.
